Sunshine Coast Shuttles is a transportation service based in Powell River, BC, helping locals and visitors access the Sunshine Coast Trail, remote backcountry destinations and communities throughout the region. I was approached to develop a cohesive brand identity and suite of assets that would give the company a recognizable, professional presence while still reflecting the adventurous, approachable character of the Sunshine Coast.
The creative direction was inspired by the landscape and outdoor culture of the region. I wanted the identity to feel bold, contemporary and easy to recognize, while maintaining the personality of a local business. The resulting visual system was designed to be flexible enough to work across everything from digital marketing and social media to print materials and brand communications.
A major part of the project was translating the identity onto the company’s fleet of vehicles. Because the shuttles are constantly on the road, the vehicle wraps became one of the brand’s most visible touchpoints. I developed large-scale graphics as well as smaller vehicle vinyls that were highly recognizable at a distance while considering the unique proportions, windows, doors and contours of each vehicle.
From brand guidelines and print collateral to digital marketing, social media and vehicle graphics, every application was designed to feel like part of the same visual system. The result was a cohesive brand that could move seamlessly between physical and digital environments, creating stronger recognition while giving Sunshine Coast Shuttles a distinctive presence both on the road and online.
